Douglas MacArthur (1880 CE - 1964 CE) is best known for his role in Asia during and after World War II. He served as a general for American during World War I. During World War II, he fought against the Japanese and after Japanese surrunder, served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Powers in Japan. He later served in the Korean War and successfully led the American military toward the Korea-China border. When the Chinese military became involved in the conflict, MacArthur was relieved of duty on April 11, 1951.
