In 2018, Cambridge City Council have announced a plan to remodel an existing roundabout next to Addenbrooke's Hospital. It is dubbed the 'Dutch-style roundabout' as pedestrians and cyclists have priority over motor traffic by means of a zebra crossing, the first of its kind in the United Kingdom where. It has been the report of various road traffic collisions (RTC) since the redevelopment of the roundabout. [1][2]

Background

[edit]

A Dutch-style roundabout is a type of roundabout where drivers entering and leaving the roundabout have to give way to pedestrians and cyclists that are crossing. Where cyclists are allowed to use a zebra crossing, this is known as a parallel crossing.
