Natachai Boonprasert (Thai: ณัฎฐ์ฐชัย บุญประเสริฐ; born 1 October 2000),[1] nicknamed Dunk (Thai: ดัง), is a Thai actor under GMMTV.[2] He is best known for his leading roles in the series Star & Sky: Star In My Mind (2022)[3][4]and Hidden Agenda (2023).[5]
Early life and education
[edit]Dunk was born on 1 October 2000 in Thailand.[6] He has a younger sister. His mother was a flight attendant, and both his father and grandfather were pilots; growing up, Dunk's dream was to also be a pilot.[2]
He completed his primary and secondary schooling at Heathfield International School.[7] In 2023, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Innovation Engineering from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) Faculty of Engineering International Programs.[8][9] Dunk was a drum major for his university.
Career
[edit]In 2021, Dunk was signed as an artist under the production and talent agency GMMTV after a talent scout noticed him on social media.[2] Later that year he made his television debut with a small role in the series Bad Buddy, playing the main character's school friend.[6]
In 2022, Dunk landed his first main role, playing Daonuea in the series Star & Sky: Star in My Mind alongside Archen Aydin.[10][11]The series was well received, winning Best Viu Awards 2022 in the Most Satisfying Series of the Year category and ranking 5th inside the Viu Top 10 Awards 2022: Thailand Series, in addition to over 100 million total views on YouTube. Dunk would reprise his role as Daonuea in Star & Sky: Sky in Your Heart,[12] Star & Sky: Special Episode,[13] and in the 2023 anthology series Our Skyy 2.[14]
In 2023, would once again act alongside on-screen partner Archen Aydin, in the television series Hidden Agenda.[5] He also participated and performed at GMMTV's Love Out Loud Fan Fest 2023: Lovolution.[15]
In 2024, Dunk became one of the new hosts of the long-running variety show School Rangers.[16] Later in the year he will star in the upcoming television series; Summer Night as White,[16] and The Heart Killers as Style.[17]
Business
[edit]Besides being active in the entertainment industry, Dunk is the founder of a pastry business named Navori and a street-style clothing brand named Vespera.[2]
Philanthropy and campaigns
[edit]In 2023, Dunk was part of the Performance Artist Ambassadors for Special Olympics Thailand. He joined in campaigns as well, such as "Just Say No" (to drugs) for 2022 World Drug Day in Thai society.[18]
