[edit]@Tavantius:, regarding your comment on the draft: there are quite a few journal papers for "second gilded age", as well as a book written by a historian and published by University Press of America.[1] The article would be better based on those, rather than on popular press. (Also, the Guardian ref doesn't even mention "gilded".) However, the article creator doesn't have enough edits yet to have access to the Wikipedia library, so may have trouble accessing the journals. - I wanted to write an article about this because it's a common topic in the circles I run around, but I'm a fourth year college student. I don't have the time to read books or the justification to pay for access to journals. My only question is I feel that the Vox article seems like a decent secondary source, and also does a good job summarizing the arguments while also giving their own opinion. Would those articles and books not be considered primary sources? Or are they secondary per Wikipedia guidelines? guninvalid (talk) 22:44, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- It's not whether the sources are secondary. It's that the subject really needs academic sources to make it anything other than a catchphrase. Schazjmd (talk) 22:54, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
