Description.00 1137 Waimangu Volcanic Valley - New Zealand.jpg
English: Stream with hot thermal water in the Waimangu Volcanik Valley. The 17 kilometer long valley was created in 1886 during a volcanic eruption. About 22 craters are said to have erupted at the same time. A number of geothermal phenomena such as crater lakes, hot springs, sintered terraces, hot watercourses and crevices with escaping sulfur vapors can be seen as consequences today. The thermal park is located near Rotorua on the North Island of New Zealand.
