Summary

Description Dudleya caespitosa—sand lettuce. Along the coast of California from Mendocino County southwards, although as a rule of thumb: if you find a Dudleya growing along the coast north of the Golden Gate it will be Dudleya farinosa, South of the Golden Gate, Dudleya caespitosa. You will find this Dudleya in many of the iconic photos of waves splashing against the rocks at Big Sur. The plant the provided the flowers photographed grows at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA.
