English: One of the photographs taken by Hiram Bingham during his first visit to Machu Picchu on July 24, 1911. On the left, in the first window from left to right (facing Huayna Picchu), is a signature inscription that reads "A. Lizárraga 1902". This signature, executed in charcoal, is attributed to Agustín Lizárraga, a Peruvian explorer and farmer, and dates back to July 14, 1902. It also shows Sergeant Carrasco, his military escort, on the right.
