(While the Socket-Outlet itself is "Un-Switched", the circuit on which it is installed is switched, by the switch controlling the luminiare/appliance for which this Socket-Outlet is provided.)

This item is installed in a ceiling space complies with AS/NZS 3000 - 4.4.4.1 in that it is

”A socket-outlet that is rated at not more than 10 A, installed for the connection of a fixed or stationary appliance or a luminaire and that is not readily accessible for other purposes."

It also complies with AS/NZS 3000 - 4.4.4.3 in that it is

"(a) Located more than 2.5 m above the floor; and (b) Provided for the connection of a specific luminaire or appliance; and (c) Not accessible for general use."
