ANOTHER FIGURE WHO VISITED THE PLANTATION WAS GENERAL AND DIPLOMAT LA FAYETTE. IT IS NOW THE CLUB HOUSE OF THE BELMONT COUNTRY CLUB WITH A GOLF COURSE AND NUMEROUS RESIDENCE SURROUNDING THE COURSE
