DescriptionBreda dual-mode bus at Pioneer Square station in Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel 1994.jpg
Breda-built dual-mode bus 5221, of Seattle's Metro Transit, northbound at Pioneer Square station in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel, in 1994. No. 5221 was nearing the end of an inbound trip on route 212. The tracks visible here were laid during the tunnel's construction in 1987–89, for planned future use by light rail, but for a combination of reasons they were never brought into use, the roadway instead being torn up – and new tracks laid – during rebuilding of the tunnel and stations in 2005–07. (Note: Metro was not yet part of King County government at the time of this photo.)
