Summary

Description
English: An anonymous 16th century Portuguese illustration contained within the Códice Casanatense. It depicts a Brahmin on the left, and on the right a Naja snake of India and a mythical two-headed snake. The inscriptions read: Left page - Brahmin. Right page - "These cobras de capelo (Najas) are very venomous and the person whom they bite dies promptly." Below: "Two headed snakes of India are harmless".
