Summary

Description
English: Gold mancus minted in London during the reign of Coenwulf, struck 796–821 AD. The obverse features a bust facing right with + COENVVULF REX m̄ around. The reverse inscription reads + DE VICO LVNDONIAE. Unearthed in 2001, this is the only known gold coin of Coenwulf and one of only eight gold British coins known from the period 700–1250.
