English: Front view of the 26 metre radio-telescope located at the Hartebeeshoek Radio Astronomy Observatory (HartRAO), formerly DSS 51 NASA Deep Space Station 51 located 65 km north-west of Johannesburg. The telesscope has seven channels in the 1.3 cm to 18 cm range. It was built in 1961 as part of the NASA Space program and was handed over to the South African Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in 1975.[1]
