English: De Oude Schuur at 12 Hofman Street, Stellenbosch, comprises two separate modern residential units. The building is a late 1990s reconstruction of the early 18th century barn of the Krommerivier farm once used as a coachhouse and stables. The barn appears on the Hertzog map of 1817. The foundations were built from rough river stone and slate. The large barn-door was enclosed and the old thatched roof was replaced with a corrugated iron roof with skylights.
