English: Erythromelalgia in left hand of Scandinavian male, 53, with hereditary small-fiber neuropathy and erythromelalgia in feet, hands and ears. To the left: Palm just before an erythromelalgia "flare-up", skin becoming mottled and a cold pain setting in. In the middle: Palm during a flare-up, with hyperemia also in most parts of fingers. Hand hot with severe burning pain. To the right: Back of hand during flare-up. Skin itching with a painful tingling sensation. Nails grey with a blue tint in lunulae (typical for this patient), indicating hypoxia due to vasoconstriction in spite of the hyperemia.
