English: This flag flew over Fort Sumter in April, 1861, in the dates of 12-14. It was lowered by Major Robert Anderson during the Civil War when the fort fell to Confederate forces. The flag contains 33 stars arranged in a near-diamond shape. This flag became a patriotic symbol of the North during the war.
