English: Friar Street, Reading, looking westwards, c. 1875. On the south side, No. 161 (Bavin and Ormiston, the Royal County Art and Ecclesiastical Needlework Repository); No. 160 (Henry Creed, solicitor); No. 159 (Binfield and Company's music warehouse). On the north side, No. 22 (Headquarters of the First Voluntary Battalion, the Royal Berkshire Regiment); the corner of Station Road with gas-lamps on tall masonry piers; No. 18; No. 17; No. 16; No. 15; No. 13; No. 11; Nos. 10, 9, 8 and 7 (Queen's Hotel). 1870-1879 : glass negative by H. W. Taunt, Box 22 No. 2476.
