Description
English: Oil portrait of Confederate Colonel George S. Patton, Class of 1852, commander of the 22nd Virginia Infantry Regiment during the Civil War; killed at Winchester in 1864. He was the grandfather of General George S. Patton, Jr. of World War II fame. The original portrait is owned by the Virginia Military Institute and located in Preston Library. Artist: William D. Washington.
