Summary

Description
English: Gorley Common, New Forest. The gravel on top of Gorley Hill was quarried away in the mid 20th century, leaving this very flat area. After the quarrying stopped the area was recolonised by gorse and grass and silver birch trees have had time to establish. The area is now owned and managed by Hampshire County Council. The line of trees in the distance are on the eastern side of Gorley Hill on the edge of the common.
