English: Image showing the directly imaged extrasolar planet, Kap And b, a Super-Jupiter with an estimated model-dependant mass of 12.8 Jupiter masses. The light of the star itself was removed by image processing. This picture depicts the signal-to-noise ratio. The more a pixel is white the higher the probability that it is not an fluctuation (noise) but a real object. |
