English: #BridgesofFriendship #HarKaamDeshKeNaam The fourth edition of #JIMEX, the Indo-Japanese bilateral maritime exercise, began today in the Arabian Sea. The Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force #JMSDF is being represented at the exercise by guided missile destroyer, JS Ikazuchi and Helicopter Carrier, JS Kaga. Rear Admiral Konno Yasushige, Commander Escort Flotilla Two (CCF2) is heading the JMSDF complement while #IndianNavy (IN) complement is being headed by Rear Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet. The IN complement comprises guided missile destroyer INS Chennai, guided missile frigate INS Tarkash and replenishment tanker INS Deepak. JIMEX-2020 includes anti-submarine and advanced air defence #exercises as well as other tactical manoeuvres that cover a wide spectrum of maritime operations. The exercise aims to enhance interoperability and common understanding of the two navies on the conduct of joint #maritimesecurity operations and will go a long way in strengthening the close strategic partnership between India and Japan.
