Deutsch: Joachim Blechschmidt (*28.12.1912 in Schleiz) war hoch dekorierter Pilot der deutschen Luftwaffe. Am 12. April 1943 zum Kommodore des ZG 1 ernannt, wurde er am 13. Juli 1943 in einem Luftkampf östlich von Orel abgeschossen. Es gelang ihm mit seiner Bf 110G-2 eine Notlandung hinter den feindlichen Linien. Seitdem wird er vermisst. Posthum wurde er zum Oberstleutnant befördert.
English: Joachim Blechschmidt (*28.12.1912 in Schleiz) was a highly decorated pilot in the German Air Force. Appointed Commodore of ZG 1 on 12 April 1943, he was shot down in an air battle east of Orel on 13 July 1943. With his Bf 110G-2 he succeeded in making an emergency landing behind enemy lines. Since then he is missing. Posthumously he was promoted to lieutenant colonel.

Nommé commodore du ZG 1 le 12 avril 1943, il est abattu le 13 juillet 1943 lors d'une bataille aérienne à l'est d'Orel. Il a réussi avec son Bf 110G-2 à effectuer un atterrissage d'urgence derrière les lignes ennemies. Depuis lors, il a disparu. Il a été promu lieutenant-colonel à titre posthume.

Nomeado Comodoro de ZG 1 a 12 de Abril de 1943, foi abatido a 13 de Julho de 1943, numa batalha aérea a leste de Orel. Ele conseguiu com o seu Bf 110G-2 fazer uma aterragem de emergência atrás das linhas inimigas. Desde então, ele está desaparecido. Posthumously foi promovido a tenente-coronel.
