Description
English: The Japan Meteorological Agency’s GMS-5 satellite captured this infrared imagery at 12:00 Coordinated Universal Time on November 1, 1997, featuring Typhoon Keith at peak intensity. At the time, Keith had 1-minute sustained winds of 180 mph (285 km/h), and the Japanese Meteorological Agency estimated Keith's minimum central pressure at 925 millibars. Keith was 1,686 kilometers from land.
