English: Marines from the “The President’s Own” Marine Band and the Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C. (8th and I) conduct military funeral honors with funeral escort for U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Harry Pickett in Section 52 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., July 19, 2023.
A WWI and WWII veteran, Pickett was the commanding officer at the Marine Barracks Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attack on Dec. 7, 1941. He served for 31 years and was awarded the Legion of Merit.
