Summary

Description
English: One of pictures of the citadel. The Fortress of Mut (Turkish: Mut Kalesi) is located on a hill in the center of the city of Mut, ancient Claudiopolis (also Claudiopolis) in the southern Turkish province of Mersin. The originally Byzantine fortress was built on the site of a prehistoric settlement. It was conquered by the Karamanids in 1225 along with Ermenek, Gülnar and Silifke and later rebuilt. It has a stern round tower on the highest point, and some restored defensive works lower down. From the top one has good views of much of the town.
