The memorial of catastrophic flood disaster (1997) of Odra River in Wroclaw. It is located near University Bridge and it is the obeisance to the people who were working to save the city - as symbolic woman in University Library, carrying all books from lower to upper floors. Sculptor: Stanisław Wysocki, memorial unveiled July 1998

Polski: "Powodzianka" - pomnik upamiętniający wysiłek Wrocławian w walce z powodzią tysiąclecia w lipcu 1997. Przedstawia kobietę dźwigającą książki i oddaje hołd wszystkim bezimiennym wolontariuszom, którzy przez wiele dziesiątków godzin zabezpieczali miasto, jego zabytki i dorobek przed katastrofalną falą powodziową - tak jak osoby ratujące przed zalaniem zasoby biblioteczne Uniwersytetu, zagrożone płynącą tuż obok rzeką. Wysiłek ten okazał się skuteczny - mimo pewnych niemałych szkód materialnych najcenniejsze zasoby miasta nie zostały stracone. Pomnik wystawiony jest na wyspie przy Mostach Uniwersyteckich, niespełna sto metrów od gmachu głównego Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego.Zdjęcie własne, 26 maja 2005
