English: Schnellboot S-1 in 1932 a few months before being delivered by the Luerrsen shipyards in Bremen Vegesack to the Reichsmarine. Development of the boat started in 1929. 27.03 meters long for a 40,4-ton displacement when fully loaded, the S-1 was driven by three 12-cylinder 900-hp Daimler Benz BFz gasoline engines, along with an additional 100-hp Maybach "cruise" engine. It could reach 34 knots at full speed.
