Summary

Description
English: The first Swedish torpedo boat ("Minbåt") Spring arriving in Stockholm 1875 on board the freighter S.S. Atlanta. It was built by Thornycroft in Chiswick and the picture shows the peculiar rudder/screw arrangement that marred the early boats from that yard. A more conventional setup was installed in 1879. The boat was originally fitted out with towed torpedoes and then spar torpedoes, but in 1885 it became a true torpedo boat, being equipped with two 35 cm torpedo frames.
