Description
English: This advertisement from the September 17, 1909 edition of The Nashville Globe is for Turner Normal School in Shelbyville, Tennessee. This school, founded circa 1886 by the AME Church, was originally called Shelbyville High School. The name was changed to Turner Normal and Industrial in 1896 and later changed to Turner Normal School. It was moved to Memphis, Tennessee for two years, before closing in 1932.
