The modern enclosure of Pit 2 contains both the pit itself - currently undergoing further excavation - and, on its north side, a series of vitrines that enclose some of the iconic restored figures of the terra-cotta army. Seen here is the statue of an archer. The slender, unarmored figure, his hair done up in a topknot, would originally have held a longbow.
