Mt. Olive Township (N½ T7N R6W) is located in Macoupin County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 3,274 and it contained 1,536 housing units.[2]

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 18.27 square miles (47.3 km2), of which 18.02 square miles (46.7 km2) (or 98.63%) is land and 0.26 square miles (0.67 km2) (or 1.42%) is water.[2]
