British Strong Style is a professional wrestling trio of wrestlers Trent Seven, Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne. British Strong Style has appeared and compeated in several promotions such as EVOLVE wrestling, PWG and many others including PROGRESS wrestling which is the promotion BSS formed.

At Chapter 33, Dunne turned on longtime tag team partner and kayfabe brother Damian Dunne, aligning himself with Trent Seven as British Strong Style. Dunne and Seven defeated The London Riots (James Davis and Rob Lynch) at Chapter 36 to win the Progress Tag Team Championships. Dunne and Seven were entered in a 7-man elimination match for the vacant Progress World Championship. Dunne pinned Jimmy Havoc to become the new Progress World Champion after Tyler Bate came down to the ring and attacked Havoc, thus turning heel and aligning himself with Seven and Dunne forming the BSS trio we all know.

On December 16, Progress management forced Dunne and Seven to vacate the Progress Tag Team Championship after Dunne attempted to give his half of the shield to Bate ending there reign of 82 days. At Chapter 41, British Strong Style once again left with all of the gold in Progress after Seven and Bate defeated the LDRS Of The New School (Marty Scurll and Zack Sabre, Jr.) and The London Riots to win the Progress Tag Team Championships as well as Dunne retaining his title the same night.

Bate made it to the finals of the Super Strong Style 16 Tournament, defeating Pastor William Eaver, Mark Haskins, Matt Riddle, before losing to Travis Banks in the final, seven also was in the strong style 16 tournament but was knocked out in the first round by Matt Riddle. At Chapter 50, Bate and Seven lost the Tag Team Championships to CCK (Chris Brookes and Kid Lykos) ending there 177 day championship reign. It did not take long for bate and seven to invoke the rematch for the tag titles as at chapter 51, they became 2 time tag team champions together (3 in total for trent seven) beating CCK just 14 days after they had lost them. At progress chapter 55 CCK beat Bate and Severn for the tag tittles in a ladder match ending the reign at 63 days, later that night Pete dunne lost the progress world title to Travis Banks ending his long reign of 287 days

WWE. All three men of british strong style where announced for wwe's united kingdom 16 man tournament airing in a two night special to crown the first ever WWE United Kingdom Champion on the 14 and 15 January 2017. All 3 men where big favourites to win the tournament. They all respectively won there matches in the first round of night 1 at the end of that night pete dunne attacked another competitor sam gradwell to the displease of many other competitors and officials such as william regal who had some words with dunne before the show went of the air as did triple h who was impressed with dunne's actions and told to quote "make a name for your self kid". Night 2 of the tournament saw bate make it to the finals after beating jordan devlin and Wolfgang, however seven would be knocked out in the quarter finals to Wolfgang. Dunne would also make it to the finals after beating Sam Gradwell and Mark Andrews. At the end of the night Tyler Bate defeated real life friend Pete Dunne in the finals to become the inaugural United Kingdom Champion at the young age of 19 years old.

After the tournament the 3 men would make a few appearances on NXT with Tyler Bate making his NXT debut on February 1st against Oney Locan, Dunne making his NXT debut on the February 22nd episode of NXT beating Mark Andrews. Trent Seven and Tyler Bate fought against each other on the 15th of February for Tyler's UK Championship which he successfully retained after the match the two friends showed great sportsmanship. On April 4, 2017, Bate, Dunne and Seven along with a few others who participated in the United Kingdom Championship Tournament appeared on 205 Live announcing they would appear on a weekly uk show coming soon.

On the April 26th 2017 episode of NXT, Bate successfully defended his championship against Jack Gallagher. WWE held a special live event on may 7 that would air latter on the network as a U.K. special, in the night Pete Dunne beat Trent Seven to become the number #1 contender for the UK Championship, later that night Tyler Bate once again successfully defended his championship against Mark Andrews. After the match Dunne came down to the ring and had a stare down with long time friend Tyler Bate.

At TakeOver: Chicago Bate and Dunne had there long awaited rematch from January where both men put on match of the night with Dunne beating Tyler to win his first bit of gold in WWE and to become the second United Kingdom Champion in history, ending Bates reign of 125 days. 5 days after Dunne had won the UK Championship he beat Danny Burch on NXT, after that Dunne would defend the tittle on house shows rather then on televised events as well as non-WWE events such as ICW and PROGRESS wrestling which is due to the partnership the promotions have with WWE as well as the special contract that the UK stars had which allowed them to work for other (selected) promotions while still working on some WWE dates.

On the August 23rd episode on NXT Bate and Seven would team up for the first time on WWE programming, in a losing effort against Wolfgang and Dunne, Dunne would have to defend his championship against Wolfgang just weeks later successfully retaining the gold, however after the match both men would be attacked by reDRagon (Kyle O'Riley and Bobby Fish) and Adam Cole, tho Dunne escaped with his tittle Wolfgang would be saved by Tyler Bate and Trent Seven making a tag match for next week on NXT. The next next week Seven and Bate had lost once again this time to reDRagon (Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly).
