Merger proposal

[edit]

What is the difference between E1 Music and Entertainment One? Why are there two separate articles that don't even acknowledge each other? E1 Music doesn't even have a disambiguation at E1. Milkunderwood (talk) 16:49, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Entertainment One is the parent company. Rich Farmbrough, 14:48, 13 February 2012 (UTC).[reply]

Assholes

[edit]

They blocked every video of Carl Sagan's Cosmos on YouTube because obviously they feel that they have a monopoly on knowledge. What lowlife assholes. I bet Carl's rolling over in his grave as we speak. Corporate bullshit like this only serves to curb the advancement of society.

Marwyn Investment Management LLP

[edit]

Marwyn Investment Management LLP is not the company's parent company. Entertainment One is a public company in which Marwyn Investment Management LLP holds a roughly 26.6% stake. This information is readily available on the company's website: http://entertainmentone.com/investors/other-share-information. Marwyn Investment Management is the company's biggest shareholder, but not it's parent company. If Marwyn is going to be considered the company's parent, then the four other large share holders should be as well. 69.142.225.160 (talk) 10:59, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian company only

[edit]

It's a global company headquartered in Canada. (Even the infobox shows Toronto, Ontario, Canada as its HQ.) Perhaps the addition of "British" to the description was because hedge fund investor Marwyn Investment Management bought Entertainment One in 2007. Perhaps it was because eOne acquired UK-based "Contender Limited" in 2007, then CL changed its name in 2009 to E1 Entertainment UK Ltd, then rebranded again in 2010 as Entertainment One UK Ltd. Perhaps it was because eOne became listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2007.

In the 2016 article "ITV Is Said to Pursue 'Peppa Pig' Owner Entertainment One", the first paragraph states:

"ITV Plc is pursuing a takeover of Entertainment One Ltd., the $1.1 billion Canadian company that owns the rights to popular preschool cartoon character “Peppa Pig,” according to people with knowledge of the situation."

Marwyn Value Investors Ltd sold its stake in eOne in 2015 to CPPIB (Canada Pension Plan Investment Board). eOne is a Canadian company. Pyxis Solitary (talk) 12:38, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Could Rob the Robot be added to the kids/family TV series section please, as eOne distributes it. [1] Thank you. -- 86.2.174.27 (talk) 15:49, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Logo inquiry

[edit]

Noticed that "!-- Do NOT change it back to the short version !-->" was added to eOne's infobox in conjunction to 2021 vandalism edits made by the blocked sock puppet Kamen rider saber is back!. Curious as to why the logo still cannot be updated to the current one (as evidenced on eOne's website). The proposed file is listed below. Please provide context so updates can be determined. Lionsgate Canada

[edit]

eOne Canada is rebranding as Lionsgate Canada, but the eOne Films (the division for films outside of Canada) remains intact. Thecleanerand (talk) 23:03, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
