This list is rubbish
[edit]It lists people who aren't even known, no sources, no idea why or how (Or if) they killed themselves because of their leaning. Then the few people who have articles of themselves, literally 90% their suicide had nothing to do with being queer. And a lot of them weren't even that! It needs deleting and redoing from scratch instead of being someone's wish list 2A00:23C4:241:8C01:154F:D402:E3A0:D7E8 (talk) 12:22, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- If someone is gay for example and they commit suicide, it doesn't automatically means being gay is whey they did it!! One actor on the list CS because he had aids, he was straight!! He got aids from drug use. But he's listed because you auto assume aids means gay. It a pointless list of lies at this point. Plus what is it for? Is there a similar page for straight suicides? Without stats etc to compare it really is just a list. And a very very bad list 2A00:23C4:241:8C01:154F:D402:E3A0:D7E8 (talk) 12:26, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- Indeed being gay doesn't mean that's the reason a person committed suicide, and this article never says that. It is simply a list of LGBT people who committed suicide, for any reason. It would helpful if you could tell us which entry on the list is actually of a straight person, and provide a source that verifies that or otherwise explain how you know that. In the meantime, I've tagged the article for maintenance. It's certainly fair to question the value this list provides for the encyclopedia, as there is a possibility it is straying into WP:INDISCRIMINATE territory in its current form. ––FormalDude (talk) 10:14, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
- I do think there is at least one fair point made here, that the article doesn't really have verification on whether the listed people were queer, and it provides no indication of how certainly the listed person was actually queer. I think people who committed suicide due to homophobic or transphobic bullying do belong on this list, even if they weren't actually queer, but we definitely need to be transparent about how much we really know about their identity. ~Puella Mortua~ Signed from the grave. [edit]is there a way to suggest inclusions? I suggest Loren Cameron 1959 to 2022. There are two refences; wiki itself a https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loren_Cameron and the New York Times. 72.212.109.250 (talk) 22:18, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
