Referencing
[edit]The one thing I find in common among the actors and musicians listed as being from Richmond is that none of the Wikipedia pages for the most famous seem to contain this information. The list appears unsubstantiated by footnotes (save one). Is this a fantasy piece, or did actors perhaps reside in this area for a few days while performing at nearby Twickenham? Brad Pitt? Kylie Minogue? Mick Jagger? Jnmwiki (talk) 20:35, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- Jerry Hall is a well known local resident – see http://surrey.greatbritishlife.co.uk/article/jerry-hall-on-life-in-richmond-and-her-love-affair-with-kingstons-rose-theatre-16650/ She lives in the house on Richmond Hill that she used to share with Mick Jagger. Headhitter (talk) 10:06, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
- I've now referenced Jerry Hall's entry on the list. I agree that we ought to strive to add references or footnotes for the other names on the list too. Headhitter (talk) 10:15, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for improving the list. Jnmwiki (talk) 22:23, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
- You're welcome. Headhitter (talk) 22:37, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
List has been reorganised
[edit]The list is now in two parts – Living people and historical figures. I've managed to cite references for almost all the entries, except for some of the living "Actors, entertainers and musicians". Where there are citations on the web they seem to be about celebrity spotting in Richmond restaurants, which of course doesn't count. On that basis I've deleted Andi Peters. And although Hugh McIlvanney, sports writer, wrote for a Richmond newspaper, I can't find any evidence that he has lived in the borough. Headhitter (talk) 16:38, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
- I've also deleted the following:
- Joe Anderson, actor, went to Richmond College but I can't find any web citations that say he lives or has lived in the borough
- Terry Britten, singer and songwriter, works in Richmond, but again I can't find any web citations that say he lives or has lived in the borough
- Caggie Dunlop, socialite – again no evidence of living in Richmond.
Headhitter (talk) 21:28, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
- I've also deleted the following as, despite extensive searching on the web, I can't find reliable citations for:
- Rod Burton
- Georgina Chapman
- Richard Clarke (radio personality)
- The Fades
- Peter Green
- Guy Hollingworth – works in Richmond, but no evidence available to say that he lives in the borough
- Eddie Izzard
- Trevor Peacock
- Robert Pattinson
- Sam Walters – works in Richmond, but no evidence available to say that he lives in the borough
Headhitter (talk) 23:19, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
- And also:
Headhitter (talk) 23:22, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
- Have now reinstated Robert Pattinson as I have found a citation for him.
Headhitter (talk) 00:44, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- As the list was getting too long, I've now moved material relating to people from Barnes, East Sheen, Ham, Hampton, Kew, Mortlake, Petersham, St Margarets, Teddington, Twickenham and Whitton to the respective Wikipedia entries for their area. Headhitter (talk) 11:14, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
