Note on "Minas Geraes I"
[edit]The link to the ship's history as given on the linked reference is wrong; it is actually located here in the .doc format. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 07:01, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
Coal-firing
[edit]The statement: "However, unlike Dreadnought, which had turbines, they were powered by reciprocating engines with coal-fired boilers."
Creates the impression that Dreadnought did not have coal-fired boilers, which was not the case.

Brasseys 1923 diagrams
[edit]Great diagrams! Can anyone access the same source to get those for the "Rivadavia" class? So both classes could be better compared. Thanks, DPdH (talk) 10:04, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Wrong Name
[edit]The correct name of this Ship should be Minas Gerais, like the brasilian state, and not Minas Geraes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.109.51.78 (talk) 11:09, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- This is explained in the article under footnote 2. Regards, Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 05:59, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
Additional source
[edit]Hi, just a note for anyone interested, there is an additional source on Sao Paulo here. Thanks, Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 00:32, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
Armor specification: conversion to metric system
[edit]The armor specification says:
Turrets: 12–9–2/3 in (305–229–51/76 mm)
2/3 in is 16.93 mm. 51/76 mm is 0.671 mm. The problem is that 2/3 in (two-thirds of an inch) can't be converted to metric by converting both the numerator and the denominator: the latter should stay the same (as it is a ratio, not a measurement). 51 mm divided by 3 would give the correct (approx) 17 mm result. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.66.169.157 (talk) 04:43, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
- Hi there! The armor specification, as can be read in the Specifications section, is for two-to-three inches, not 2/3 of an inch. I've tried clarifying this in the infobox. Thanks very much, Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 04:59, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
Now it is unambiguous; thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.66.169.157 (talk) 05:03, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
