Improvement needed

[edit]

This page is just a mishmash of bullet notes. I don't know how to tag things and can't really edit anything, but this should be rectified to improve the quality to match those of Wikipedia. --72.69.211.179 (talk)Poxywallow —Preceding undated comment added 23:19, 3 July 2010 (UTC).[reply]

checkY I added a cleanup template. WikiWinters (talk) 20:45, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

can somone please explain how the nasdaq is calculated

[edit]

with some specificity? the stock market index article does not say how the major indexes are weighted or calculated. skakEL 15:13, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Im interested in this topic of nasdaq composite weighting id like someone to come along and teach us eventually. theres over 3,000 companies though so some individual companies would weight as little as half a percent or something like that. i would like to know this weighting scheme for scolarly reasons like you.76.244.154.251 (talk) 23:49, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Five years after this request was posted, we still don't have a basic explanation in this article of how it is calculated. Is it based on market capitalization like the S&P500, share price like the Dow Jones, or what? Pretty basic issue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.225.200.92 (talk) 08:55, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Still no word on how this is calculated?! WHY? as of 12/16/2019 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2610:130:103:200:CC28:7780:D514:D2A3 (talk) 16:58, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nasdaq CompositeNASDAQ Composite – It seems that someone got the spelling wrong so this is just to get the correct format which has the name in all capital letters. AquilaXIII (talk) 02:15, 14 June 2018 (UTC) --Relisting. bd2412 T 21:51, 21 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This clearly needs some sort of centralized discussion to get all of these articles on the same page, or at least to get to consistency among the articles referring to exchanges and consistency among the articles referring to the company. Dekimasuよ! 19:13, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

NASDAQ CompositeNasdaq Composite – Reverse the move of two and a half years ago, as even then the all-caps spelling is outdated and incorrect. Although originally an acronym, it is no longer treated as such. Note that Nasdaq was just moved for the same reason, and this would bring this article in line with that one and other Nasdaq, Inc. properties, none of which use the all-caps spelling any longer. oknazevad (talk) 09:21, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
