– I think the current page title for this school is terrible. At the moment, Norwich School is a disambiguation page. I propose for this article to be titled Norwich School, becoming a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC and not a main reason to consider, but this is a pretty long established school, dating back to 1096. The current disambiguation page to be moved to Norwich School (disambiguation) and to make use of hatnotes linking to this which will be important. I must note the last move discussion took place in 2009 but didn't really go anywhere, and a 2011 revival that resulted in "no consensus". Thoughts? Hi Willbb234, absolutely, I noticed that school too but the use of hatnotes will solve the problem Steven (Editor) (talk) 18:22, 22 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Crouch, Swale, I don't think views should be much of a concern here, hatnotes will solve all problems and the title can always be moved in future if it becomes a problem. As for Google searching, it's the same for me, and if I search for "Norwich University" I get a generalised view with multiple listings whereas the full "Norwich University of the Arts" shows its dedicated right side information box Steven (Editor) (talk) 18:22, 22 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Views might be a concern if people are looking for the university with "Norwich School" but that doesn't appear to be that likely that many do so. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:26, 22 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That's true Steven (Editor) (talk) 19:24, 22 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly, Norwich University of the Arts is a small place and rarely talked about, especially as a school. I don't it could be ever confused with Norwich School, even given its close proximity. Willbb234Talk (please {{ping}} me in replies) 22:17, 22 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. This was the only exact name match (i.e. having a qualifier) on the DAB page until just now; but I've found and added Norwich School (glassmakers). However, that gets only a tiny number of views and can be discounted. A pageview analysis for the last year shows 15,437 views for Norwich School (independent school) and 650 for the DAB page; which suggests that most readers are getting to the school through Wikilinks or by seeing the current cumbersome title in the search box. The current title also raises doubt in the reader's mind whether there might be a state school of the same name, when there isn't. IMO, the only contender which might deny 'Norwich School' its position as WP:PTOPIC is 'Norwich School of painters', which had 6,357 views in the last year. However, I doubt whether anyone looking for either the painters or the glassmakers would be surprised to find that the relevant article had a qualified title; they might not even get as far as the DAB page, because all three articles turn up the search box as soon as you've typed as far as 'Norwich Sc' (which was how I found the glassmakers). I require a high, often a very high, standard for PTOPIC test 1 (likelihood of being what the reader's looking for); and the school passes my standard.
