Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because of the relevance of the material to the development of the Iskandar, Malaysia region and the film industry. Stage specifications and details on the various facilities at the studios are useful for the industry as a whole and also to the local people, who deserve to know what is going to be on their doorstep. This development is important not only to Malaysia but also to the entire Asia-Pacific, creating facilities to develop a rapidly growing media industry that has the potential to support economic growth but also impact legislation in the region (especially those in relation to human rights) due to the investment. Any attempt to delete information that is important to the economic sustainability of the region is unethical for the people of Iskandar. Srcpwd911 (talk) 15:31, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, and there are quite a number of quality third-party sources which can be cited. I will add some tomorrow unless someone beats me to it. Rangoon11 (talk) 22:39, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia StudiosIskandar Malaysia Studios – Hi, previous edits have been rolled back due to insufficient information of rebranding. This link here https://variety.com/2019/film/news/pinewood-group-exits-iskandar-malaysia-studios-1203264550/ has a proper explanation/release regarding this rebranding. Also, if it is move request, will the details in the current page be retained when moved to the new page? Jon Liaw (talk) 07:53, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support – while a press release is not a great reference, for this situation it may be sufficient. The current name should probably remain as a redirect, and should be mentioned in the article, for historical context. The renaming isn't currently added to the content of the article, but it should be. And yes, Jon Liaw, the current contents of the page will be retained if the consensus is to move the page. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 14:50, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Edit Request

[edit]

I'm currently working with the studios as a trainee whereby I need to change existing Pinewood names to the current studio name. The current name of this page is currently not related the new name of the studio. It was a mutual agreement between Pinewood and Iskandar Malaysia Studios to stop using the Pinewood brand. This link here Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).https://variety.com/2019/film/news/pinewood-group-exits-iskandar-malaysia-studios-1203264550/ has a proper explanation/release regarding this rebranding. This is a request to change it's title to Iskandar Malaysia Studios. Please let me know if I'm doing it correctly now. Thanks.

check Partially implemented What mentions there were of Pinewood in the article have been removed. The change of the article's name will have to wait until closure and outcome of the requested move process, which typically lasts about seven days. Since the page move request is completed, I would like to forego with this edit request. Thank you. Jon Liaw (talk) 01:21, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

To editor Jon Liaw: just a gentle reminder that edit requests are used when you would like to edit the content of an article that you cannot edit yourself. To make uncontroversial page moves there is a "Move" link near the top of an article's page, so you can rename a page yourself. If for any reason the renaming might be controversial, it is best to do what you did above and start a requested move discussion. Hope this helps, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! P. I. Ellsworthed. put'r there 02:41, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
