Batch vs fleet

Hi, Aumnamahashiva, I did notice that you have organized the ships as Fleet 1 and 2. Can I ask what are you basing this on? Is this based on the fact that the ships are being produced in two batches or that there is something add-on in the second batch? A ship class is divided into Fleets based on subsequent improvements to the same class which do not warrant another class. A classic example here is the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer or closer home the Kalvari-class submarine where Flight 2 was supposed to have AIP(this was scrapped later). Ship building even for the same class and the exact same specifications usually happens in batches for many reasons but primarily because of limitation of dry docks. This does warrant sub-dividing the class into Fleets since each ship is exactly the same but just built over time. Thanks. Adamgerber80 (talk) 16:12, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
