Information icon Hello, I'm N2e. I noticed that you made a change to an article, BK Racing, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. N2e (talk) 19:59, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to BK Racing. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. besiegedtalk 20:02, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Nelson Piquet Jr. may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 17:13, 29 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Richard Childress Racing

[edit]

Hi Lukscheese. Thanks for the bubble tea!

On your work on Richard Childress Racing, thanks very much for adding sources. I have no problem with that new material staying now.

However, since you appear to be a fairly new editor of Wikipedia, I did want to tell you that the citations you have added are not full citations, and are therefore subject to something that we in Wikipedia call "linkrot". Basically, it means that what you've added is not as stable as it might be, and will be subject to a lot more change in the future than it would be with full citations.

A full citation will also include the date of the material in the source (if known) and the date accessed by the wiki-editor who consulted it, the title of the web page or news article, and usually the publisher of the source. Often the author may be included, if the source has a published author. I add tens of such citations to Wikipedia every day, so I would be happy to help show you how to make a few of your citations into full citations. If you do, just ask me on my Talk page. Cheers. N2e (talk) 12:36, 28 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I appreciate your enthuiasm for infobox work very much. In the future though, you don't need to add cites to the infobox - most of the information is already cited in the main body of the articles, only in very rare cases are inline citation in an infobox needed. Keep up the good work. - The Bushranger One ping only 22:21, 30 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, as long as a claim is cited in the body prose of the article, then the citation does not need to be repeated in the infobox. But if the statement is not cited in the article, citations are appropriate in the infobox. Cheers. N2e (talk) 04:57, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Lucas Oil 150, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mike Skinner. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

2017 NASCAR Home Tracks articles

[edit]

Could you please let me handle the 2017 NASCAR Home Tracks articles? I've been doing it since 2014 and when others are starting to take it over, it'll get messy. I had to make quite a lot of fixes to the Entry list after your edits for Bristol and it takes way more time to fix everything than doing the Entry list edits myself. Thank you. Could you please tweak this template? Thank you. NASCARfan0548  01:21, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

What's wrong with that? or what do you want I make in that ? Looks good for me Luks25 (talk) 01:29, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't look as good as other templates like Template:RCR. NASCARfan0548  02:56, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind. I noticed the second time it does look like other templates. NASCARfan0548  02:58, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that template is different from RCR for example because RCR have others Series, personnel, former drivers, crew chiefs informations but CR7M only had Rohrbaugh as a driver, had multiple crew chiefs and the owner is Rohrbaugh family so I don't think that informations are really necessary Luks25 (talk) 03:20, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please add results tables to articles I created?

[edit]

For example, Darwin Peters Jr., Casey Smith, and Keven Wood. NASCARfan0548  03:01, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I have to add results tables for other pages but that articles are easy/fast to add so I can add. Luks25 (talk) 03:20, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Now, I need help on Draft:Jeff Agnew. Apparently, I can't add results tables. How do you do that? NASCARfan0548  00:34, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have to thank for everything to Bcschneider53, since he created his NASCAR career results "incubator", as you can see here: User:Bcschneider53/NASCAR Results. So I copy the table that will be needed in driver's page and make the necessary adjustment like team/number/manufacturer informations and the finish results with the correct color that you can see in: Template:NASCAR driver results legend. [edit]

On the article Ian Henderson (racing driver), I tried to add a results table but instead ruined the whole article. Could you please fix that problem? Thank you. NASCARfan0548  02:35, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey User:NASCARfan0548 you are doing right, you just forgot to close the table with |} in the last line. Also when start a new year, new manufacturer, new team or nem number in the table you should add |- to jump the line and table keep correct...without it everything will be in the same line.

Also since you are starting editing it don't forget the template under the NASCAR/ARCA name in motorsports career results because others series have different colors and different meanings in results table.

Glad I could help! Luks25 (talk) 05:48, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. NASCARfan0548  15:18, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have the same problem on Zachary Bruenger now. NASCARfan0548  16:24, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:NASCARfan0548 It looks normal for me now! And you see, is not that difficult to add results table after you learn to edit it. Luks25 (talk) 15:20, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please fix Jerry Reary's table now? NASCARfan0548  15:55, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@NASCARfan0548: I took care of this one. I do suggest you take a look at the fixes Luks25 and I have done so that you get the hang of it yourself a bit quicker. Once you do a few of them and learn how it works, it's not too hard at all. --Bcschneider53 (talk) 17:23, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I need help on Chris Lafferty's table now. NASCARfan0548  16:46, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please add his results tables? The article has been prodded because there are no references, so could you please fix that? Thank you. NASCARfan0548  01:04, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I was working in other pages but I will help since the page is on the line to be deleted. I searched a few sources for it but only found one in the Motorsport. Luks25 (talk) 13:52, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) Max, how hard is it to add literally one source to your pages? PRODing your own articles and then begging others to do the work for you isn't the most efficient way of doing things, it's you doing the work when creating the page and making sure that it has multiple independent, reliable sources. A simple Google search will turn up sufficient material for at least a paragraph of prose on most of the pages you're creating, yet you create one-sentence stubs and ask everybody else to clean up behind you. If you want to work towards being an admin, a good start would be practicing these things so that you demonstrate an understanding and ability to put into practice a lot of core Wikipedia policies. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 19:00, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Willsome429: first of all, there are two sentences, not one. Second of all, I would add a source if I can add a results table, but for Lonnie Rush Jr., a results table would be too big for me. NASCARfan0548  19:18, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you are capable of typing a term into a search engine, there is no excuse for not putting sources in pages. At bare, absolute bottom minimum, it's as easy as citing the Racing-Reference profile of the driver at the end of the one sentence in the page. But I feel you're missing the point here: there are more to Wikipedia articles than results tables. The bulk of each page should be prose about who they are, what they did, the meanings behind the numbers. Because as stated in WP:NOTSTATSBOOK, "To provide encyclopedic value, data should be put in context with explanations referenced to independent sources." Loads and loads of your pages fall short of this key directive. I'd encourage you to take your best shot at expanding them as best you can and practice finding reliable sources. I'd also encourage you to take a leap into the unknown and create a results table larger than ten seasons, because even if it doesn't work out, you'll gradually grow in editing ability. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 19:36, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page watcher)@NASCARfan0548: Max, you're doing it again man. "A results table would be too big for me" is not a valid excuse at this point. You have been editing for a while and we've encouraged you multiple times to try to build bigger tables on your own. Plus, as William has pointed out, you should also get out of the habit of creating articles with nothing more than a one- or two-sentence lead and the results tables. You need prose with reliable sources to prove notability. --Bcschneider53 (talk) 19:47, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!! It's such an honor to receive that award @User:Willsome429!! I started to search it on EN Wiki and discovered a few pages without results table so I started to added it myself (I think I added results table for 30-40+ drivers) but I discovered more and more pages without it, so I saw that I couldn't add everything on my own, so I decided to create the list on Wikiproject to other people interested to help, adding it (the list was a mess, I was going to sort in alphabetical order / in order of the series they needed in a later date) but @User:Cavanaughs was faster and made it a lot easier to keep track now. I also updated all the NASCAR information on PT/BR Wikipedia, and created pages for some drivers, teams, some seasons and some races. Luks25 (talk) 01:15, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry, we all made mistakes at the beginning! You're welcome, you can send a message about any questions you have, either for me or for other members of the nascar wikiproject. Information icon Hi Luks25! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. glman (talk) 05:06, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Glman, ok, thanks, I will change that from now on about minor edits. But you reverted my edit on the delaware football page which was obviously a fix/typo, because practically all the 200+ pages of other football teams only put the wins in bold and the losses without being in bold and on the delaware page, strangely the losses they were also in bold, so for consistency with the vast majority of other pages I removed the bold and you reverted my edit.
