Happy New Year 2017!
To you and yours! May you have a happy, prosperous and joyous one! God bless! — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 12:34, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

Hi! Am not sure if you have notice it or not, but the annual editing competition Wikipedia:WikiCup has started and the signup is open till 5 February 2017. The cup encourages content improvement and tries to make editing on Wikipedia more fun; and it did that for me last year. I have hence decided to drop this friendly note hoping that you would take part. Although the signup ends on 5th Feb, the earlier you sign in the earlier you start scoring. Happy New Year and Happy Editing! §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 04:55, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the invitation, Dharmadhyaksha. But, my health may not permit me to be active for now. Regards, Pavanjandhyala (talk) 13:23, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

The sports articles about Indian athletes are in a appalling state. Do you have any interest in working on it, maybe a specific sport? Let me know, Thanks. NumerounovedantTalk 08:13, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

- I regard Ghajini the only proper film made by ARM. Thuppakki was fine. The rest, esp. 7aum Arivu, were too tedious. I really thank Chiranjeevi for not posing in an underwear. :) Pavanjandhyala (talk) 07:52, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- Yup, Ghajini was okay despite the flaws. Ditto with Thuppakki. It was only after 7aum Arivu that I started hating him. —Vensatry (talk) 13:06, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

Lava Kusa (1963)
I really believe you can get it to GA. Narasimham has published it today. You can use it to at least improve the article. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 09:44, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- I have already added it to the lead section. Now someone may just format the ref and shift it elsewhere, to comply with WP:LEADCITE. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:11, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help guys. Shall do it soon, not today. Mahesh fans are celebrating the fifth anniversary of Businessman (i made it a GA) and i have to watch the film in my village; it is going to be screened within few minutes. :) Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:10, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- Did you see the film before? I thought you only make GAs out of films you've already seen (I'd do the same, except for lost films). Kailash29792 (talk) 17:19, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- I saw it in theatres, Kailash. It is a deeply philosophical crime film (at least for me because of the depth in its dialogues) and showcased Mahesh in a full-fledged negative role. So much that i hoped to see him either dead or crowned the king of the system (the latter happens). Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:33, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

Kurmanathaswamy Temple, Srikurmam
Hello, Veera Narayana. This is a courtesy notice that the copy edit you requested for Kurmanathaswamy Temple, Srikurmam at the Guild of Copy Editors requests page is now complete. All feedback welcome! – Corinne (talk) 01:22, 23 January 2017 (UTC) |
Hello, Pavanjandhyala - I did the best I could, being unfamiliar with many of the terms. I hope you'll read through the article and be sure I did not introduce any factual errors. In the process of trying to find a link for "Gopala yantra", I came across another article, Sri Kurmam, which I guess is the town where the temple is located. I wonder why the town is spelled with two words while it is spelled as one word in this article about the temple. I also found an article for "mandal", and linked it. – Corinne (talk) 01:26, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the copyedit, Corinne. This is something not too familiar to me too. This was planned as a small one-time break/deviation from the film articles i usually edit. It indeed is baffling to me too why it is Sri Kurmam for the village and Srikurmam for the temple. This is surely informative about Gopala Yantra (but is non reliable as well i guess). Pavanjandhyala (talk) 02:23, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
- Interesting. I have no way of judging the reliability of that source, but at least now I have a better understanding of what the Gopala yantra is. Shall we ask Joshua Jonathan for his opinion about this source? – Corinne (talk) 14:59, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
- It seems to be related to Sri Chatanya Sangha. Great domain-name for this swami! The Harmonist is non-scholarly; for the yantra I think it's okay; when some serious dispute would arise, it's probably rejected by people like Ms Sarah Welch. But for now, it's okay. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 16:39, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
- I would like to think of adding a source which is more reliable, and that too at a later stage. I have no intentions to make this a GA or something. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 10:38, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Relieved
While it is relieving to see you back (even if it's only temporary), I hoped you'd resume work on Lava Kusa (you don't have to if you don't want to, but the least you could do is leave sources for us to use). As for me potentially quitting, that day is still far away, given how small yet so large my to-do list is. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:54, 9 March 2017 (UTC)

Sorry to hear that
Hello, Pavanjandhyala - I am so sorry to learn that you plan to retire from Wikipedia soon. I did not know you have had a difficult time here. I only saw your wonderful articles, and I was glad to be of help to you now and then in copy-editing them. Editing on Wikipedia should be mainly a source of pleasure and satisfaction, but if it becomes a source of stress and unhappiness, I guess the best thing to do is to retire. Perhaps after a break, you might return. You must know that there are quite a few editors here who appreciate your contributions and would be happy to see your continued presence here. Please reconsider your decision to retire! Best wishes to you, – Corinne (talk) 17:20, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
- I am a WP Wanderer. I am also one of the original members of the WP:WER project and its sub-project Editor of the Week. Rumor has it that you are planning to retire. When an editor like you retires, WP and the community lose so much. Not just the work you do is missed but your attitude, your way of being, the congenial way you work with fellow editors is missed. Maybe you got involved with a 'ruff crowd' or a rough editor a bit too early in your WP career. The same thing happened to me. I was a rookie and I was doing battle with veterans at the Sara Palin page during the 2008 Election period. But I was lucky. There was a group of editors that, while they obviously supported Palin, at least they could be fair and relatively impartial.
- I wonder if you might consider renewing you enthusiasm for Wikipedia editing. It doesn't have to be at articles like the ones you have been working at. It could be something completely different. A restructuring can be in any one of a thousand ways. Your voice needs to be heard. Others will try to drown it out with their chatter and their divisiveness but your voice needs to be heard. I hope I am not to presumptuous in this request. As I said, your retirement bothered me. I support whatever you decide. Buster Seven Talk 23:05, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the messages Buster Seven and Corinne. They are heart warming indeed. There are multiple reasons why I wish to leave this place forever, but a majority of them are related to my personal life. They are too private to discuss here. But since those three tasks have the capacity to take more than five months to get completed, anything can happen. For now, i can say that i am not the very same guy anymore. I want my three tasks to help me find some strength in the divine's presence. :) Pavanjandhyala 16:47, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

The Conclusion
I can't wait to see the film. Have you booked your ticket? I will be watching it tomorrow evening as my semester exams are going on and I have one tomorrow. LOL. I was last excited like this during the release of Bajirao Mastani.Krish | Talk 15:21, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure someone will leak info on why Kattappa killed Baahubali, so I too shall try watching the film ASAP and keep away from social media till I watch it. --Kailash29792 (talk) 15:24, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Krish! and Kailash29792: No tickets until the next week, so no viewing. Excited though, especially after meeting the man himself recently in Hyderabad. ** Pavan Jandhyala ** 15:26, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
- Well, I will watch the film in 4 hours and you should should too. Because you are right people will spoil everything like they did Star Wars TFA (thankfully no one spoiled it for me). Reviewers are saying that the film has two twists (one Kattappa and one unknown). I am more excited now. I hope they don't pull an Ekta Kapoor like twist.....LOLKrish | Talk 08:07, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Krish!: Rajamouli said that the second part would be very dramatic. Given the fact that Baahubali draws so much from Mahabharata, i hope it doesn't get soap-drama kinda story. ** Pavan Jandhyala ** 08:38, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
- No tickets for me too until next week (Courtesy the pre-booking scheme most likely). I wanted to wait for the reviews before going to watch it (Didn't want to be fooled like I was for I). Well, SSR has surely met expectations when I looked at the reviews from newspapers. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 10:49, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
- Well, just ended up watching the film and thank god there was no soapy drama. BTW, by my last post, I was referring to a review which said there were two twists, one Kattappa and other unknown, so I said I hope they don't introduce the real Baahubali saying he was alive the whole time. LOL. Do you know why Kattapa killed Baahubali?. (NO SPOILERS) Well, I won't tell you but will say the the reason is hidden under all the fan theories. I mean those memes, Whatsapp and Facebook posts from 2 years ago, atleast one theorist got one thing right. So take ten theories and mix it and you have got the reason. Still, he kills it for the obvious reasons but the main twist in the tale is how and why it happens, watch it to understand.Krish | Talk 15:01, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
- Say no further. Because there are some works which cannot be enjoyed if their twists are spoiled. Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is a classic example which I was unable to enjoy in the deserved manner while reading because I was already aware of it's twist element (just like the rest of the post-19th century world which didn't read the novel). I don't think anyone can enjoy The Sixth Sense without realising that [spoiler] was [spoiler] since [spoiler]. --Kailash29792 (talk) 15:32, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
- Well, I didn't reveal anything. you can't just collect those ten theories and feel that you know the answer because one or the other had missed something which is only shown in the film. By the way, I have stopped reading the plots of classic thrillers on wiki and I surely was blown away by The Sixth Sense. You know what, The Conclusion basically turns around everything. I mean you must have imagined certain things after watching the first film but the second part is not what one is expecting it to be. For example: The relationship between Shivagami and Devasena is completely opposite of what you and I had expected. It breaks the rules of storytelling.Krish | Talk 15:42, 28 April 2017 (UTC)

@Kailash29792 and Krish!: Worry not. The truth is out and the story has been revealed by innumerable Prabhas' fans in my friends and family. I respected their enthusiasm and stayed silent. You can discuss any sort of spoiler here and i am ready to know it. My wholehearted attention is currently on Nartanasala and further referencing (if any) on the Bhadrachalam temple (link above on the top of the talk page). Help me if you can, or just kill time here. I'll be grateful for any gesture. ** Pavan Jandhyala ** 15:53, 28 April 2017 (UTC)

- (talk page stalker) I never thought of the "Mahabharata angle". The following combinations reasonably work well, IMO: Prabhas as Pandu/Arjuna (combined with the rest of the Pandavas), Rana as Duryodhana, Nasser as Shakuni(?), Ramya Krishnan as Gandhari, Anushka as Kunti and Sathyaraj as Karna(?). —Vensatry (talk) 03:50, 29 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Vensatry: No second thoughts on Kattappa; he's Bhishma. A bachelor for life, loyal to the king's throne and obeying the orders though they are unethical. Someone with a deepened sense of guilt for the deeds he has committed. Despite his loyalty, Kattappa raises his voice to tell the right thing only to be humiliated. This happened with Bhishma innumerable times. For the rest, well, Anushka can be Draupadi as well. Consider the scene in the conclusion where she is chained and brought into Sivagami's court, only to be freed by Baahubali who then loses his princely status and goes to exile (side effect of spoilers-leaking friends). ** Pavan Jandhyala ** 04:31, 29 April 2017 (UTC)
- Poor Pavan! Don't worry, the film will still work for you. But thank god I saw it on first day without any spoilers. I was very excited, even while writing my semester exam yesterday morning. I don't think any Indian film will come close to this kind of anticipation and fan theories for a long long time, maybe Baahubali 3? I also thought that the film is inspired from Ramayan [spoilers] are exiled on mother's demand. I hope Rajamouli comes up with Mahabharat after this because that will be something else. I am very eager to watch the cinematic adaptations of that and Ramayan. Both can be adapted into a series of three films each and considering the scale that the Bahubali films have achieved, it will be interesting to see all the characters coming to life.Krish | Talk 05:36, 29 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi, i see this is well referenced and structure is almost there. Just a few suggestions.
- Avoid honorifics - "Lord"
- since there are a set of vernacular words like tehsil, you may wish you include the english meaning in braces for the first or second time.
- Notes - definitely nice representation - reviewer would like it be expanded
- look at rephrasing "Religious leader", Valmiki's version of Ramayana.
- "Hence, Pushkaram and Maha Pushkaram are celebrated once in every 12 years and 144 years at Bhadrachalam" - reference needed to support relation with Mahakshetram with 12 & 144 yr celebration.
- The descriptions vary between the town Bhadrachalam and the temple - can you have a relook.
- Legend - better to start with "as per Hindu legend" or "as per local legend" etc.
- who administers the temple now?
- Architecture may need a bit of rearragement - like it can be ordered from entrance to sanctum and shrines around first, second precincts.
Let me give a read again once you are done, thx. Ssriram mt (talk) 08:47, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Ssriram mt: Thanks for the valuable suggestions. I'll work on these from tomorrow. :) ** Pavan Jandhyala ** 13:42, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
Sita Ramachandraswamy temple, Bhadrachalam GOCE copy-edit
Hello, Veera Narayana. This is a courtesy notice that the copy edit you requested for Sita Ramachandraswamy temple, Bhadrachalam at the Guild of Copy Editors requests page is now complete. All feedback welcome! – Corinne (talk) 00:43, 25 May 2017 (UTC) |
I didn't recognize your signature at the end of your request at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests! I was wondering why you were working on the article. Did you change it recently? I have finished copy-editing the article, but I will read through the article at least once after you have addressed the questions I left as hidden notes. I see you already addressed a few of them. Usually, I leave questions and concerns on the requester's talk page, but it takes me less time to type hidden notes. I hope you don't mind.
I have one question for you. It's about a sentence in the lead. Here it is:
- According to the legend, Vishnu appeared to Meru's son Bhadra as Rama to fulfill the latter's penance.
The phrase "to fulfill the latter's penance" is not clear to me. I think I know what you mean, but this is not the most common phrasing. Perhaps one of these:
- to fulfill a penance
- to fulfill a promise
- to satisfy a penance
- to carry out a penance
I'm not sure. I looked at the article Penance to search for a common way of expressing it (but I'm not even sure what is actually meant here). I found a section Penance#Penance in Indian beliefs, and that led me to Prāyaścitta. Maybe you can find something in that article to help choose the best phrase. It's also a little confusing (for a non-expert) that a god (Vishnu) could appear as Rama (a human being?) to carry out a penance for Rama. Also, the word "penance" appears only once in this article, and that is in this sentence in the lead. The word "promise" appears only twice, both instances in the first paragraph of the Legend section. So, I cannot find an explanation of this slightly unclear sentence. If this is important, perhaps it should be explained clearly somewhere in the body of the article.
Let me know if you have any questions. – Corinne (talk) 01:09, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Corinne: Thanks for the c/e, Corinne. I am now sure that the article has a better flow and understandable prose. Well, i have changed my signature today to a simpler one; had this feeling that many aren't that comfortable with it. :) Pavanjandhyala (talk) 03:55, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
- You're welcome, and I'm glad you approve of the edits. I didn't mean to suggest I wasn't comfortable with your new signature. It's just that I was used to seeing the old one and didn't at first see your name in the new signature. I do think it took a bit more scrutiny to actually read your name in it, though. This latest one is clearer and quite nice. – Corinne (talk) 00:03, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

Eega
I'd propose Eega for the anniversary of its release with this blurb if you agree.
- Eega ([The Fly] Error: {{Langx}}: text has italic markup (help)) is a 2012 Indian bilingual fantasy film written by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad and directed by his son, S. S. Rajamouli. It was produced by Korrapati Ranganatha Sai's Varahi Chalana Chitram with an estimated budget of ₹260 to 400 million, simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. The film stars Sudeep, Nani. The narrative is in the form of a bedtime story told by a father to his daughter. Its protagonist is Nani, who is in love with his neighbour Bindu. Nani is murdered by a wealthy businessman named Sudeep, who is attracted to Bindu and considers Nani a rival. Nani reincarnates as a housefly and tries to protect Bindu while avenging his death. The film's production began on 7 December 2010 at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad. Principal photography began on 22 February 2011 and continued until late February 2012. The two versions of the film, alongside a Malayalam-dubbed version titled Eecha, were released on 6 July 2012 in approximately 1,100 screens globally. Eega won two National Film Awards, five Filmfare Awards, and three South Indian International Movie Awards. It was screened at International Film Festivals. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:10, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

When Harry Met Sally
I just found out that SRK's next film is titled after this film. LOL. I haven't seen the original film. I know it's not a remake but every Imtiaz Ali film (except his first and best film) has been a rip off of some Hollywood film. Don't you think there is a striking resemblance between Linklater's Before series and Ali's Jab We Met and Tamasha? Krish | Talk 00:56, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
- I don't think so that the comparision can be denied. These are nearly event-less films (from a narrative point of view; not much actually happens), protagonists are romantic at heart, and are severely flawed in their own way. IMHO, what Ali does always is the same. He keeps stretching and capitalising on the protagonists' psyche and flaws. While i appreciate his interest in character development, it becomes a sort of worry sometimes. I don't think that this new film would be any different. I liked Shah Rukh playing his age with subtlety (but verbose) in Dear Zindagi, staying loyal to the (exhaustive but no other way) script. He looks the same here, but i don't have anything to expect. Hey brother, I'm finding it tough to add movie posters to the infobox of a movie. Can you give me any advice on how to do it without gaining any sort of negative attention from the wikimedia commons. A sincere request. Thank you.Srinivastarun | Talk 18:39, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Srinivastarun: Hi. Wikimedia Commons accepts files whose copyrights can be modified for reuse. In short, film posters cannot be uploaded there as they are copyrighted material. Upload them in Wikipedia directly using the file upload wizard here. Fill the form properly and you are done. Hope that helps. Regards, Pavanjandhyala (talk) 14:35, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
Hey!
I would appreciate your help here like I always have.Krish | Talk 12:53, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
- You did appreciate my help in the past, and I am glad you did that. But, as the content is way too progressive for a Telugu film fan (you and your buddy can relate to this), i am regretfully expressing my inability to review this. Stepping back from a lovely guy like you, sorry. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 15:31, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
- Dude you can approach the review as any other list. It is not a big deal. You can do it.Krish | Talk 14:55, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

Hey! Can you atleast perform the image and source review for my Quantico Season 1 FLC? I would appreciate your help.Krish | Talk 12:10, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
- Dude, you did not perform the source review.Krish | Talk 11:55, 27 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Krish!: Find someone really capable of performing it. What you ask isn't always what you get, at least from me. And that is applicable to each and everyone here. Thank you. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 07:23, 28 September 2017 (UTC)

Common / altered cast?
Hi there, re: this edit, do you specifically recall what you intended here? "Common cast" and "Altered cast" are confusing and they're also non-standard cast sub-headings. WP:TVCAST prefers focus on Main and Recurring, and I can't tell what you were trying to indicate with these subsections. I've flagged the section for cleanup accordingly. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:04, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: Ssven2 addressed this in my absence. Hope it is clear now. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 05:40, 27 September 2017 (UTC)
Hi. Thankyou for your participation in the challenge series or/and contests. In November The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There will be over $4000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on Indian actresses or whatever during this month please sign up in the participants section. The articles done may also count towards the ongoing challenge. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate and raise money to buy books about women for others to use, this is also fine. Help would also be appreciated in drawing up the lists of missing articles. If you think of any missing articles please add them to the Indian list in the sub page on Asia at Missing articles. Thankyou, and if taking part, good luck!♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:15, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

I would appreciate your comments as always, Pavan. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 13:06, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Ssven2: Welcome to my talk page after a really long time, sir. I will review your nomination. And, genuine or not, i do not deserve any kind of appreciation or love, sir. Surely not from someone progressive and broad minded like you. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:05, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

- (talk page stalker) Ssven2, Although I haven't seen Thaer Thiruvizha fully, I remember one scene where MGR appears as his real self. I can't find any text source for this (IndiaGlitz fails RS, but only by Wiki standards), but I think videos from verified YouTube channels are acceptable. --Kailash29792 (talk) 16:35, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Kailash29792: That looks perfect. I'll add it in. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 16:37, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Ssven2: Think twice, sir. Please. Don't test my patience using WikiLove, sweet talks, inclusion in 'friends and family', 'appreciations' etc. Ask what you want here; if i can help, i will. The Pavan you know isn't the same now, please understand that sir. Thanks for coming. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:53, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
