Your cascade-protected page

[edit]

Hi there. Somehow or other the issue of cascade-protected pages came to my attention, and I noticed that you have a cascade-protected page in your userspace (User:Tawker/protectlist). You made all of those page protections over a couple of days in August 2007, and it's not clear to me why that page is cascade-protected (or for that matter, why the pages listed were salted, as they'd only had one previous deletion). I know this was forever ago, and it strikes me that it was some sort of experiment that you and a couple of other admins undertook, possibly when cascade protection was being introduced. When you have a chance, could you take a look at this? It's not urgent, obviously; nobody noticed it for 16 years. Thanks. Whoa, that is a blast from the past. It took a little bit to find the time to dig in (as you said, 16 years so hardly a critical need) - I don't think there is a need for the page to exist anymore, as such I have simply deleted it. Thanks for catching it! -- Tawker (talk) 14:03, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:22, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

BAG membership

[edit]

Hello. You are listed as a member of the Bot Approvals Group but it appears you may not be actively helping in this area anymore. Do you intend to return to BAG-related activity on Wikipedia, or are you happy to be removed from this list? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:57, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Administrative permissions and inactivity reminder

[edit]

Information iconThis is a reminder that established policy provides for removal of the administrative permissions of users who have made fewer than 100 edits over a 60-month period. You are receiving this annual reminder since you have averaged less than 50 edits per year over the last 5 years.

Inactive administrators are encouraged to reengage with the project in earnest rather than to make token edits to avoid loss of administrative permissions. Resources and support for reengaging with the project are available at Wikipedia:WikiProject Editor Retention/administrators. If you do not intend to be engaged with the project in the foreseeable future, please consider voluntarily resigning your administrative permissions by making a request at the bureaucrats' noticeboard.

Thank you for your past contributions to the project. — JJMC89 bot 00:35, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks - yes I have had significant time constraints - I will look to re-engage where I can. -- Tawker (talk) 22:18, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to participate in a research

[edit]

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
