Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/American Robin nest.JPG

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Single egg in the nest of an American Robin from New Jersey.

I found this birds nest the other day and once i saw it, I knew I needed to take a picture of it. What I like in this picture is the detail that the camera has captured. There is so much life in the leaves surrounding the nest, and the texture appears so realistic that you could practically feel the leaves. In addition, you can even see the individual twigs/straws used to build the nest, even fresh grass that was probaly taken from when i mowed my lawn. Even the egg has a lovly shade of blue that the camera managed to capture just right. I believe because of this, and the beauty of the picture overall, it deserves to become a featured picture on the site.
