Warrior-class cruiser

[edit]

This class of armoured cruisers was built in the first decade of the 20th Century and served at home until 1913 when one ship was transferred to the Mediterranean Fleet. That ship, HMS Warrior, participated in the pursuit of the German battlecruiser Goeben and the light cruiser Breslau at the beginning of the war while her three sisters remained at home with the Grand Fleet. Only one ship survived to be scrapped: Warrior was sunk at the Battle of Jutland, Natal was destroyed in a magazine explosion and Cochrane ran aground and broke in half a few days after the end of the war.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 00:15, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
