Request for images
[edit]Would it be possible to get as many from numbers 1,2,3,4 and 33 from hereas depict Muhammed Ali Jinnah uploaded? As those are listed as having been taken by British officials, they would have had their Crown Copyright expire by now. The article is at FAC and probably will lose a number of images once the image check is done, so I'd be grateful for assistance.--Wehwalt (talk) 06:16, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hello?--Wehwalt (talk) 13:54, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
- Is this project still active?--Wehwalt (talk) 09:31, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
- I suggest you contact user:Andrew Gray who is or was the Wikipedian in residence at the BL. Andrew Davidson (talk) 10:33, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
- Whups - didn't notice this all those many months ago! I was ill and then away for a good chunk of November; my apologies. Wehwalt - after we talked on IRC a while back I dropped an email to one of the curators to ask about those images, but looking over my mails it seems to have fallen into a void. I'll try and chase it up again for you. Andrew Gray (talk) 12:39, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, thanks. Wasn't certain of your screen name here.--Wehwalt (talk) 14:50, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

Can you upload everything
[edit]... from the local histories search page (the link you have added in the Wikipedia:GLAM/BL/Books#Requests) section or it needs to be PD book? --Tito Dutta (talk) 02:43, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
Opposition to page moves?
[edit]Is there any opposition to moving these pages to reflect the full name of the organization (British Library)? I think abbreviations should be reserved for redirects, and that way (when browsing categories or project pages) readers know which institution is being referenced. I may have been too bold when I decided to go ahead and move some of the project pages without sharing my intentions here first. Happy to have the pages moved reverted if project contributors do not prefer having the full name of the organization displayed in the page names. Thanks. --Another Believer (Talk) 03:55, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
- I don't have any particular objection (to be honest, I only just noticed now) but we need to move them all! There's a broken link on the front page here at the moment as a result of partial moves. Andrew Gray (talk) 20:09, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
Requested move 3 September 2024
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: no consensus to make any particular change at this time, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 12:58, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
– IDP is an ambiguous name. The full name used in the lead should be used here instead. Gonnym (talk) 08:42, 3 September 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. ASUKITE 16:43, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
- Weak oppose. The suggested name is too long and cumbersome. IDP by itself may be ambiguous, but it doesn't seem ambiguous when coupled with the other terms in the project name. I think this discussion was opened in the wrong place and should be at Wikipedia talk:GLAM/British Library/IDP, which shouldn't be a redirect. The current location of this discussion is confusing, since this is the Talk page of a different project, Wikipedia:GLAM/British Library (2012–2013). — BarrelProof (talk) 20:56, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Officially don't care The page has not been edited for over a decade - these are the page views. Johnbod (talk) 00:09, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, this is an obscure thing to be worrying about. If we want to tinker, some linked material uses "BL" instead of "British Library", which would be a more consistent treatment and more concise and was the title 10 years ago. — BarrelProof (talk) 00:32, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
