How many WikiProject Women templates to add to talk pages?

[edit]

Is there a best practice about adding "WikiProject Women" templates to Women BLP Talk pages? For instance if one adds "WikiProject Women Scientists" or "WikiProject Women Artists" should one also include "WikiProject Women"? Are these templates used to determine how many pages there are for women on Wikipedia? Nnev66 (talk) 22:40, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Polite Note of Request

[edit]

Dear members,

I am requesting your guidance or advice on how to make changes or add information to this page:

The page is: Val Kalende

I am the personality that page talks about. I did not ask for a Wikipedia page and I doubt I needed one but since it already exists, I feel obliged to know how the writeup can adequately represent who I am: My current views, biographical information, education, and career. Please let me know how to submit an article. I appreciate any feedback you can provide.

Many thanks. Ghh77 (talk) 05:21, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Ghh77: Hello, first I would advise you to read the section on If Wikipedia already has an article about you. I would also suggest looking at Writing about yourself, family, friends.
Generally, except for a few constrained situations described in WP:COISELF, you should not edit the article yourself. Instead, write your concerns or desired changes on the Talk:Val Kalende. You can use post the {{Please see}} template here at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Women & at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Biography to alert editors on those WikiProjects to the issues. You may also want to post at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Uganda.
It is generally helpful to post the verifying citation(s) from reliable sources that back up the changes that you wish to see.
Bear in mind that although you may have had a change of mind or heart about something for which you were once notable, that does not mean that this will be removed from the article. Please consider what the verifiability, not truth essay has to say about this.
Also, it would be best to read the section on How to disclose a conflict of interest (COI).
I hope this is helpful. Peaceray (talk) 06:12, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Green's October 2024 edit-a-thon

[edit]

Hello WikiProject Women:

WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2024!

Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

We hope to see you there!
