Genitive has been replaced by prepositional phrases, especially “hjá” and “á” in fromt of the Dative case, much like the use of “of” in English, e.g. “the house OF David” which would be “húsið HJÁ Dávid” – so I think it would be more correct to present Genitive as “hjá/á + Dative”, – e.g. if you were to say “the hair of a beautiful girl” you would say “hárið á ein(ar)i vakrari
