Welcome to Wikipedia!

[edit]

Hello Boereck, welcome to Wikipedia!

I noticed nobody had said hi yet... Hi!

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

You might like some of these links and tips:

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Wikipedia Boot Camp, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, -- Alf melmac 23:42, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:TransAmericaPyramid.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Hetar 04:52, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CoitTowerII.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Rental cars as fleet cars

[edit]

In the United States and most countries served by rental car companies there are different sizes cars are offered in.

I reverted your recent edits to this article. I tried to verify the census stats on the http://factfinder.census.gov database, but no listing was found for El Dorado, California — only El Dorado County and El Dorado Hills. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 22:17, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Modified your iPod Nano photo

[edit]

Hi. I like your photo of the iPod Nano. I've created a smaller version of it with some sharpening and contrast adjustments.

I couldn't modify the original file, because it's on Wikimedia commons. Would you mind if I use the modified version? --IE 11:56, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS: I just saw the pic is very small... I wanted to reload the image to commons but now I feel it is too small. -- Boereck 13:53, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
I've uploaded the full size version to wikipedia. See Image:IPod Nano in its Dock (updated).jpg. The "New" screenshot above shows the updated image. Unfortunately, when the image is scaled by MediaWiki (like in the above above screenshot), it doesn't come out quite as sharp as the smaller version I made previously. Doesn't really matter though. --IE 12:09, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Angela Merkel.jpg listed for deletion

[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Angela Merkel.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. [edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:TransAmericaPyramid.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you created this image yourself, please look at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#For image creators, select one of those tags, and add it to the image. To do that, simply go to Image:TransAmericaPyramid.jpg, click "edit this page", and add the appropriate tag. Be sure to remove the current tag indicating a lack of licensing!

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me at User talk:Angr or at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. —Angr 19:43, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:KingofQueensCast.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:KingofQueensCast.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:14, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Buxtehuder_Wappen.gif

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Buxtehuder_Wappen.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:22, 4 April 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 14:22, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Storage room listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Storage room. Since you had some involvement with the Storage room redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Steel1943 (talk) 17:26, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
