Previous season

[edit]

The Lady Jaguars finished the 2022–23 season 18–15, 12–6 in SWAC play to finish in a four-way tie for second place.[1] They defeated Prairie View A&M,[2] Jackson State,[3] and Arkansas–Pine Bluff to win the SWAC tournament championship and earned the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA tournament, and their first tournament appearance since 2019.[4] They received the #16 seed in the Seattle Regional 4,[5] where they would lose to Sacred Heart in the First Four.[6]
